  1. Rehabilitation

    • Physiatrist Tests for preliminary pediatric evaluation to determine the proper management of and treatment for each client.

    • Physical Therapy activities are aimed to maintain, restore and improve the general physical condition of CWDs. Treatment sessions, which last from one to one and a half hours, are usually conducted twice a week. Activities include:

      • Joint range of motion and stretching exercises

      • Muscle strengthening exercises

      • Neurodevelopmental techniques to restore or develop normal muscle tone in order to achieve postural control

      • Application of physical modalities such as heat and cold packs, icing, electrical stimulation as well as hydrotherapy techniques.

    • Occupational Therapy provides modified activities aimed to attain the highest level of independence in performing daily tasks despite the child’s condition. Treatment sessions are done once a week and monthly Group Therapy sessions are given for the children to work in a group while doing task-oriented activities. Treatment techniques used include:

  • Sensory integration therapy

  • Behavior modification therapy

  • Cognitive stimulation

  • Gross and fine motor skills training

  • Activities of Daily Living skills training

  • Developmental skills training

  • Neurodevelopmental skills training
